China Glaze "Flyin' High"

i love the Up & Away collection by China Glaze. it had a bunch of fantastic colours. i was interested in this one for a long time but never bought it because i don't really like how blues look on me. well i tried in on the other day and fell in love, so i bought it. it's more green-aqua on the nail than it appears in the bottle. it's a little dusty and a lot beautiful.

Borghese "Stellar Notte"

i had purchased a Borghese polish in the past and was disappointed by it, but i had to buy this colour when i saw it at CVS. it's a shimmer black polish that shines teal and purple depending on the angle. the formula was decent too, and i actually like the brush. shown is two coats, different angles and lighting.

OPI "Ski Teal We Drop"

i went to Ulta to check out the new OPI Swiss collection because i was interested in "Cuckoo for this Colour". but when i tried it on, i didn't like how it looked on me. "Ski Teal We Drop", however, looked great against my skin. so i bought it. it's a deep teal/peacock creme that has good opacity in two coats. it's a little dusty. although i like it and i like how it looks on me, i don't love it.
i noticed that it is the exact same colour as a pair of plugs i recently sold. it's also a similar polish to one i bought and returned, Sally Hansen "Fairy Teal". apparently i keep trying to wear this colour, unsuccessfully.
overall, it's a great polish, but it doesn't thrill me.

Orly "Galaxy Girl"

i was excited about the new Cosmix collection by Orly despite the fact that i'm not a huge glitter fan. i was anticipating the rainbowy "Space Cadet" most, but that polish is sold out everywhere i go. i decided to buy "Galaxy Girl" upon seeing it in person, and i am so glad i did. i think i like it best out of all the polishes in this collection.
it's a burgundy/dried blood red base with blue/teal/purple/silver glitter. it's a little bit sheer but two coats is sufficient. it is SO PRETTY. it reminds me of a pigment i've used called "blue russet". it's also similar to the Maybelline polish "Vanishing Venus"

Nicole by OPI "Fell from the Tree"

i fell in love with this colour at first sight. i am a big green lover, and this is such a great, deep, shimmery emerald/kelly green. i didn't buy it immediately, but instead went home to Google this polish. I COULDN'T FIND A SINGLE THING ABOUT IT! and i still can't. so i'm honoured to write about how much i love this polish.
i found it at Target. there was no label/slot for this colour. i'm wondering if it is exclusively for Target. the formula was great; i could have gotten away with one coat if i wanted. the photo shows two coats.
this polish quenches my desire for Sinful "San Francisco" which is a bit yellower and more Christmas-y than "Fell from the Tree". i didn't want to buy the Sinful polish because i don't like their formula. but i am very happy having this polish instead.

Sephora by OPI "Studs and Stilettos"

i just took this polish off after wearing it for about 12 hours. i really thought i'd love it. it's part of the Rocker Chic collection for Fall 2010. in the bottle it looks like 87% cacao melted chocolate with mica. on the nail, it looks flat and almost black. it's supposed to be a dark brown creme with fine silver shimmer. the formula was runny and pooled near my cuticles, and as you can see from the photo, didn't provide good opacity. two coats, disappointing, and got returned today for the kind of outrageous $9 it costs.

Orly "Supernatural"

i saw this at my local beauty supply shop and instantly wanted it. however, being a smart polisher, i looked up swatches online before returning to the store to puchase it. it's a little frosty and a lot pink, but i still love this colour. the formula is great, two coats and it's done. i love how the pink is muted with grey; it's almost like a pastel mauve yet it has a cloudiness to it. it's close to a nude shade for my skin tone. my mom says it makes my fingers look longer. definitely a keeper, this one.

Ulta Professional "Orange You Glad It's Summer"

i kept being drawn to this colour because it's a slightly muted tangerine that is on its way to coral. since i have no orange cremes, i picked it up hoping i'd like it. unfortunately the formula sucks. it took three coats to get nearly-opaque and took forever to harden, resulting in dents and scratches. the colour is alright; it reminds me a bit of traffic pylons even though it's not as bright. i'm going to return this one.
